About C. John

The Finest Carpets, Rugs and Tapestries

When you live with a C. John piece, you become part of the story. A story with a rich history, starting in the east and continuing in your home.

It’s a story of inspiration, hard work and craftsmanship learned over many painstaking years and combined with an overwhelming belief in creativity and beauty. When you bring one of our pieces into your home, that history will live with you and your family. The story will begin a new chapter.

In 1933, John Cohen opened his first Gallery in Oxford with one simple goal: To represent the most refined qualities of art and living around the world. For 80 years that has stood as the benchmark for all C. John rugs.

In 1947, C. John opened its Mayfair Gallery. In 1966, C. John received the Royal Warrant as supplier of carpets to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Today we remain the only fine carpet gallery in the world to hold the warrant.

C. John has been a member of the British Antique Dealers Association since the early 1960’s. More recently, we have joined CINOA which also showcases our collection in their On-Line galleries.

Please come and see us today at our new modern gallery in Mayfair.
