Description

A late 19th century Persian Heriz Carpet with an all over design in various shades pinks and blues with a indigo border.

Hand knotted in wool

In excellent condition

Heriz carpets and rugs from the Heriz region in northern Persia are often influenced by the geometric designs of the caucasian weavings. The woollen carpets and rugs are often quite coarsely woven in distinct contrast to the superb quality of those woven in pure silk.
