Senna or Senneh the capital of Persian Kurdistan. The best examples of Senna weavings posses a refinement of texture and an originality of colour and design which are delightful and unsurpassed by any other Persian weave.

ABRASH, Colour variations in oriental Carpets and Rugs.

Antique, hand knotted Oriental Rugs were woven from multiple dye lots during their creation. As one dye lot was replaced by another there were often variations in the colour causing what is known as ” Abrash “

These variations were not immediately noticable by the weaver, but became more apparent with the passing of time, giving the Carpet or Rug a unique character.
