Jacques Moreno Pontremoli (1886 – 1952) was a Jewish immigrant from Ottoman Turkey who could trace his heritage back to the time of the Spanish Inquisition in 1492. He set up a small workshop in Paddington, London, in 1910, to make Needlework rugs and carpets by hand. Embroidery and Needlework from the 17th and 18th centuries were his inspiration for the beautiful floral designs. His works were a great success attracting many members of the Royal Family among his clients. These  beautiful rugs and carpets are much sought after and admired to this day.
