A fine and rare traditional late 19th century Persian Tabriz Carpet with a herati pattern around a plain ivory panel with central indigo herati pattern medallion with pendants, a royal blue palmette and vine border between ivory, tan and blue floral stripes.

The city of Tabriz in the far northwest of Persia is renowened for its beautiful weavings. Overall floral and medallion designs are finely woven in pastel colourings suiting refined western taste, generally in wool but also in pure silk.
